courses

the workshop
Courses cater for all levels, from the complete beginner, who will receive help to achieve individual projects based on basic techniques, to the more experienced, where the tuition is informal, with the emphasis placed on personal development and experimentation. Numbers are restricted to no more than 5 per session and are in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere - current students have nicknamed the studio 'the sanctuary'! Please feel free to phone Jill for a chat, and maybe arrange a visit.

Courses are for a two hour session over a ten week period, with breaks for half-terms, Christmas etc. Fees are payable in advance.

There will also be additional summer courses and various weekend courses on offer during the year eg: raku/smoke firing, majolica and lustres - details of these will be announced during the year.

Gift certificates can be arranged, and groups of up to 5 can be catered for with one off sessions e.g corporate team buidling.

In the workshop you will be able to:

Hand build: coiling, slabbing, pinching, moulding & modelling - using good quality stoneware clays.

Throw: electric wheel available.

Glaze & decorate: an excellent range of stoneware glazes, oxides, underglaze colours and slips are available.
